King Haakon VIIís return to Norway

Text Box: On 7th June 1945, King Haakon VII returned to Norway after 5 years in exile.  Under orders by the King, the 99th Infantry Battalion (Separate) was to stand Honor Guard to his immediate right when he stepped shore in front of Oslo City Hall.  Above photo, taken by photographer Sturlason, clearly shows the Battalion lined up.
It was soldiers from C Company who got this honorable job.
